We are a family founded training company, established in 1997. We deliver high quality bespoke and accredited technical rescue and industrial safety training.
We also provide consultancy services, compliance & rescue teams, sales and inspection of work, rescue and outdoor equipment.
We are based in Newhaven, on the South East coast and operate throughout the UK and overseas.
Meet the Team
Peter
Managing Director
Peter founded Specialist Training Consultants with Director Sue back in 1997, whilst still a Firefighter in London. Peter has extensive knowledge and experience in Rescue, Working at Height, servicing and equipment inspection. In his spare time Peter enjoys fishing and volunteers as a Chairman of a local Search & Rescue charity.
Sue
Director
Sue founded Specialist Training Consultants with Managing Director Peter back in 1997. With a background in administration for a multinational computer hardware company, Sue has vast experience in customer service and is responsible for administrate services. In her spare time Sue volunteers as Secretary with a local Search & Rescue charity.
Tom
Training Director
Ella
Training & Quality Manager
Tom joined STC in 2011 as the Training Manager and has since become a Director. Tom's expertise are in Technical Rescue, Emergency Response and Incident Command. Tom is one of our Trainers, Service and Rescue Technicians. He also works as a Crew Manager and on call Firefighter. In his spare time Tom volunteers on the International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA) board of directors as well as UKRO as a Rope Rescue Assessor.
Ella joined STC's office and rescue team in 2014 and has since become our Training & Quality Manager. Ella also still remains an active member of our Technical Rescue Team. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, mountaineering, kayaking and volunteering with a local rescue team.
Leah
Business Administrator
Leah joined our Technical Rescue Team in 2020 as a Rescue Technician. Leah has since become part of our office team supporting training, servicing and sales. In her spare time she enjoys scuba diving, paddle boarding and roller skating.
Ben
Trainer
Ben joined STC in 2014 as a Technical Advisor and Route Setter for our climbing walls, he has since become one of our Work at Height and Rescue Trainers. Ben has extensive experience in the outdoor and offshore sector. Ben is a mountaineering instructor in the UK and Secretary for the Route Setting Association (RSA) .
Will
Trainer
Will joined STC in 2019 as a Rescue Technician, he has since qualified in teaching and has become one of our First Aid at Height Trainers. Will is an operational Paramedic so he provides excellent current knowledge on our courses. In his spare time Will volunteers with his local RNLI lifeboat.
