Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for rope rescuers, access technicians & more.
Prerequisites
Learners must hold a valid First Aid qualification and be competent to work at height. You must also be a minimum of 18 years old, medically fit and healthy. Learners will also be required to provide proof of identity at the start of their training.
There is pre-course learning for this course.
Content
A mix of classroom, skill stations & scenarios all focused around rope rescue delivered by emergency professionals & registered Paramedics.
Over a 5 day period, learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airway, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more.
Endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfilling the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, this fantastic qualification is perfect for a range of roles in emergency care, such as: Event Medical Responder, Emergency Care Support Worker and more.
What’s more, the Qualsafe Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) also forms part of a progressive suite of prehospital care qualifications that lead to the Qualsafe Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice (RQF).
Assessment
The course is assessed using practical demonstration and skills tests throughout. This course has 3 mandatory units including multi choice question papers.
Certification
Successful learners will be issued with a STC Rope Rescue Medic Certificate and a Qualsafe Awards Level 3 Certificate in First Response and Emergency Care (FREC) valid for 3 years from the date of assessment.
