The Rope Rescue Responder is the first of three International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA) rope qualification levels. It will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work and carry out a rescue safely on steep ground as well as the skills to be part of a rescue team on more challenging terrain.

Who is this course for?

The Rope Rescue Responder is the first of three International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA) rope qualification levels. It will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work and carry out a rescue safely on steep ground as well as the skills to be part of a rescue team on more challenging terrain.

Prerequisites

Course participants must be a minimum of 18 years old and medically fit and healthy. Learners will also be required to provide proof of identity at the start of their training.

Content

The course covers a range of skills such as personal rope skills like ascending and descending ropes as well as team skills such as casualty care, lifting and lowering stretchers; both in the industrial and natural environments.

Your course will be delivered by experienced and highly qualified emergency professionals with extensive experience in the emergency services or in the industrial emergency response sector. You will be taught the latest techniques with a range of the most up to date equipment from various manufacturers.

Assessment

The last day of the course is an independent evaluation of your skills by an external assessor. 

Certification

On successful completion you will receive an International Technical Rescue Association (ITRA) qualification.
